About Progress
In 1971, Progress Inc. was formed by a small group of concerned parents with a desire for their children to live independently. The non-profit agency has now provided daily activities and support staff to hundreds of adults with developmental disabilities for nearly 43 years. In 2009, Progress expanded its services by providing non-medical support to seniors in their own homes across Middle Tennessee. In 2013, Progress also founded a program for youths with intellectual disabilities - Camp Progress. Progress continues to expand programming in 2014 by establishing an Employment Network for people with disabilities, both intellectual and physical. Additionally, Progress opens its social enterprise, smART (Scrap Made Art Supplies) store which accepts donations of scrap items destined for a landfill and sells them as art and crafts supplies while providing employment opportunities for people we provide services to and providing funding for the programs of Progress. Progress continues to set the bar high for services provided to seniors and people with disabilities.
